Regardless of how a Parenting Plan is developed, there will be one at the end of the marriage or end of the relationship between the parents.
A parenting plan is devised to decide the primary residence of their children and how the children’s time will be divided between the parents. If the parents cannot reach an agreement, the courts may order a mediation or arbitration, or order the parties to a court clinic where a professional will work with the parents to develop a parenting plan.
It is often best if parents can work together for the best interest of their children. In the event they cannot reach an agreement, professionals may be available to assist in devising hopefully the most favorable plan.
Sometimes one parent may have a larger amount of time with their child when there are unfavorable circumstances like drug or alcohol abuse by the other parent or even in absent parent situations. We’ll work together to see that your child is protected and safe in the environment he or she is placed in.
